Music Lessons near Tujunga, CA

Private instruction for every age and level, about ten minutes east along Foothill Boulevard. Guitar, piano, voice, drums, violin, music production and more, seven days a week since 1953.

Just Down Foothill from Tujunga

No freeway required.

Tujunga and Montrose share a road. Foothill Boulevard runs from Tujunga through La Crescenta, and Grayson's Tune Town is a short hop off it on Honolulu Avenue, where our family has run the store since 1953. From most of Tujunga it is about ten minutes, no freeway required.

Families from Verdugo Hills High and Mt. Gleason Middle have made the trip for years. Students learn in one of our ten studios inside a working music store, with strings, books, rentals and repairs at the same counter, and parents can run errands on Honolulu while they wait.

We teach guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, piano, voice, drums, violin, brass, woodwinds and music production. Around twenty instructors across ten studios, seven days a week.

Why Tujunga Families Choose Grayson's

Six reasons families here have stayed with us for years.

🏦

Since 1953

Four generations of the same family, in the same neighborhood, on the same street. We now teach the children of students we taught years ago.

✨

A Store Worth Walking Into

Students come in through a room full of guitars, amps and instruments on their way to the studios. It is hard to overstate what that does for a young musician compared with a plain rented room.

📅

A Flexible Program

Thirty, forty five or sixty minute lessons, seven days a week. Weekday afternoons through evenings, weekends all day, and online lessons when you need them.

📍

One Road Away

About ten minutes east on Foothill from most of Tujunga. No freeway and no cross-town trip.

🎓

Accredited Instructors

Our teachers hold degrees from prestigious university music programs. You can read every instructor's background and training before you book a single lesson.

🎤

Working Musicians

Most of our instructors still perform, record and gig around Los Angeles. Students learn from people actively doing the thing they are being taught to do.

Questions from Tujunga Families

The things parents ask us most often.

About ten minutes from most of Tujunga, east on Foothill Boulevard. We are at 2415 Honolulu Ave in Montrose, in the middle of the shopping park.
It depends far more on the child than the birthday. Piano and violin often work from around six. Guitar and drums usually want a little more size and hand strength. Call us and describe your child. We have had this conversation a few thousand times and we will tell you honestly if we think it is early.
Two ways. You can take our teacher match quiz, which asks about instrument, age, goals and schedule, or you can simply call and describe what you are after. Our staff know every instructor on the roster and will point you at the right one.
Yes, and more than people expect. Complete beginners in their fifties, players returning after thirty years away, and parents who decided to learn alongside their child.
Pianos and drum kits are provided in the studios. For everything else students bring their own, and we rent and sell instruments here, so you can start without committing to a purchase before you know it will stick.
Of course. Stop in during store hours, look at the rooms, and ask us anything. Most families find it easier to decide once they have stood in the space.
