Why Study Music Production at Grayson's?
Taught by Working Musicians
Both instructors are degreed players who record, arrange, and produce. You learn from people who use these tools on their own material, not from a syllabus.
Full Hour Sessions
Production takes time to set up and settle into. Every lesson is a full 60 minutes so you can actually finish something instead of packing up mid idea.
Built Around Your Project
Bring a track you are stuck on, a song you want to record, or nothing at all. Lessons follow what you are actually trying to make.
One on One, Always
Private instruction only. No classes, no shared screens, no waiting your turn while someone else works on their mix.
Beginner to Advanced
Whether you have never opened a session file or you are refining a release, your instructor meets you where you are.
Est. 1953, Family Operated
Over 70 years of musical excellence. A trusted local institution serving Montrose and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions
Music production lessons are 60 minutes only, at $90 per lesson, with no registration fees. Unlike our instrument lessons, we do not offer 30 or 45 minute production sessions. Getting a session open, working through an idea, and saving your progress simply takes the full hour.
If you already have a laptop and a program you like working in, bring it and we will build on what you have. If you are starting from scratch, reach out before your first lesson and your instructor will help you choose a setup that matches your budget and what you want to make.
No. Plenty of producers come to it from the listening side rather than the playing side. That said, both instructors also teach guitar, bass, ukulele, and beginner piano, so if you want to build playing skills alongside production, that is easy to arrange.
There is no strict minimum. Production tends to suit students who are comfortable working on a computer and can stay focused for a full hour, which is often a little older than our instrument students. Reach out and we will talk through whether it is the right fit.
