Consign Your Instrument With Us.

Let Grayson's handle the listing, the photos, the shipping, and the buyers. You bring the instrument in. We do the rest.

Why Consign With Grayson's

Selling an instrument privately is a part-time job. We've been moving guitars in Montrose since 1953, and we're happy to put that to work for you.

Listed Where Buyers Look

Your instrument gets its own product page on graysonstunetown.com and a Reverb listing. We handle the photos and write a description that actually moves gear.

Real Foot Traffic

Players come through our showroom every day. Your instrument gets in front of serious buyers who know what they're looking at, not just scrolled past in someone's feed.

Setup Before It Sells

We don't repair every issue for free, but our in-house techs handle basic adjustments along with any repairs we agree on up front. A guitar that plays great sells faster, and usually at a better price.

No Shipping Hassle

If it sells online, we pack it and ship it. No trips to FedEx, no stressing over insurance forms or freight quotes.

Common Questions

A few things people usually ask before sending an inquiry.

What's the consignment split?

Splits depend on the instrument, the price point, and the work involved. We'll go over exact terms with you when you bring the piece in for assessment.

A higher-value vintage piece is structured differently than a $400 student guitar. We keep it fair and we keep it transparent.
What kinds of instruments do you take?

We're selective about what we put on the floor. Right now we focus on quality electric and acoustic guitars, basses, and vintage pieces. We may open up to pedals and amps down the road, but we're not taking those on consignment at the moment.

If you're not sure your gear is a fit, just submit the form below and we'll give you a straight answer.

How long does it take to sell?

Most pieces sell within a few weeks to a few months, depending on price, condition, and what's hot at the moment. Listings on the website and Reverb usually go up within a few days of intake.

How do I get paid once it sells?

Once payment clears on our end, we issue your payout. You can take a check or apply it as store credit. Store credit comes with a small bonus if you're looking to roll it into your next instrument.

What if it doesn't sell?

If a piece sits longer than expected, we'll talk price adjustments with you. You're also welcome to take it back at any point with reasonable notice. No penalty.

Do I need to bring it in to start the process?

Start with the form below. Clear photos and a description help us give you a quick read on whether it's a fit. From there, we'll have you bring it by the shop so we can assess it in person.
