Gibson Custom 1964 ES-335 Reissue VOS - Sixties Cherry

The Gibson Custom 1964 ES-335 Reissue VOS recreates one of the most sought-after years in ES-335 history. Developed after extensive study and digital scanning of original 1964 instruments, it faithfully reproduces the sharp horn cutaways, medium C neck profile, small block inlays, and vintage-correct construction that defined the era.

The guitar features a three-ply maple/poplar/maple semi-hollow body with a solid maple center block and a solid mahogany neck joined using a long tenon with hide glue. The Indian rosewood fingerboard features authentic medium jumbo frets and small cellulose nitrate block inlays, while the VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish provides the appearance and feel of a lightly aged vintage instrument.

Electronics consist of a matched pair of unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers wired with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers, paper-in-oil capacitors, and Switchcraft components for vintage-correct tone. Hardware includes an ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum stop bar tailpiece, Kluson Single Line Double Ring tuners, authentic nickel hardware, and a black/yellow Custom Shop hardshell case with a Certificate of Authenticity.
