Build the Guitar You've Always Wanted.

Custom Shop. Built to Order. Limited Run. Whatever your dream guitar looks like, we'll work with you and the builder to make it real.

Why Build It With Us

We've spent decades placing custom orders with the biggest names in the business. You get a real partner walking you through it, not a faceless online form.

Authorized Dealer Relationships

We're authorized to place direct orders with Fender Custom Shop, Gibson Custom, Martin, Taylor, and others. Real factory builds, not gray market.

Spec It Out Together

If you know exactly what you want, great. If you don't, we'll help you spec it from body wood to pickup output to neck profile. No spec sheet, no problem.

You Try Before You Commit

Come into the shop and play examples of what you're considering. Feel the neck profile in your hands before you order one shaped like it.

We Stay in the Loop

From order placement to factory updates to delivery, we keep you posted. When it lands at the shop, we set it up before you take it home.

Common Questions

A few things people ask before placing a custom order.

How long do custom builds take?

It depends on the builder and the complexity of the build. Most Fender and Gibson Custom Shop orders run six to twelve months. Martin and Taylor Custom builds typically land in the same range. Heavily customized or Masterbuilt instruments can take longer.

We'll give you a realistic estimate when we put together your quote. Builders sometimes finish early, sometimes late, but we keep you updated either way.
Do I need a deposit?

Yes. Custom orders are non-cancellable from the builder's side once placed, so we collect a deposit when the order goes in. The remainder is due when the instrument arrives at the shop.

What if I don't know exactly what I want?

That's part of why you'd come to us instead of ordering blind. We'll walk you through the options, suggest specs based on the sound you're after, and pull examples off the wall so you can compare neck profiles, woods, and pickups in person.

Can I customize literally anything?

Most things, yes. Each custom shop has its own menu of available options. Fender Custom Shop and Gibson Custom Murphy Lab offer the most flexibility, including Masterbuilt and Made 2 Measure programs where almost anything is on the table. Martin and Taylor have extensive option lists but operate within their model frameworks.

If something specific isn't on a builder's standard menu, we'll ask. The answer is sometimes yes.

What does it cost?

It depends entirely on the builder, the model, the specs, and any special options. A Team Built Fender Custom Shop Strat lands in a different ballpark than a Masterbuilt, and a Murphy Lab Les Paul is a different conversation than a standard Custom Shop SG.

Once we know what you're after, we'll put together a real quote. There's no obligation to move forward.

Can you order brands not listed here?

We carry and order from a number of other brands. If you have a specific builder in mind that isn't on this page, mention it in the form and we'll let you know if we can place the order.

Trusted to Spec the Right Guitar

Custom orders are not cheap and they take time, so they need to be done right. We've placed hundreds of custom builds over the years for working players, collectors, and people who finally decided to treat themselves to the guitar of their life. We know which specs translate to the sound you're chasing, which combos to avoid, and how to get the order placed cleanly so it shows up exactly the way you imagined it.
