Biography: Corinne Dekker is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory, where she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre. An accomplished singer, actress and teacher, she is highly sought for both her performing and teaching abilities.
As a teacher, Corinne spent many summers coaching singing and acting at one of Canada’s leading summer theatre camps for children, “Camp Poco a Poco”. Corinne then went on to teach voice at Los Angeles’ prestigious “Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts” for many years. Since then, she has taught and coached privately, with a focus on singing for musical theatre and acting/auditioning for film and TV. Corinne’s students have gone on to star in such musicals as “Aladdin”, “West Side Story” and “Grease”, as well as appear in national commercials and TV shows.
Theatrically, Corinne was most recently seen originating the role of ‘Lynn’ in the world premiere musical “It’s the Housewives” and the title role of ‘Evelyn Jones’, in Ovation Award Nominated Musical “The Possession of Mrs. Jones”. The later premiered in conjunction with the Los Angeles Film Festival, and was directed by the acclaimed Charles Herman-Wurmfeld (“Kissing Jessica Stein,” “Legally Blonde 2”). Over favorite theatre roles include ‘Mary Bailey’ in “A Wonderful Life, ‘Cassie’ in “Rumors” and ‘Yum Yum’ in The Mikado.
Classically, Corinne is a professional staff singer at All Saints Beverly Hills, and is hired regularly as a soloist and chorister at churches and venues around the Los Angeles area, including St. James in the City, St. Johns’ Downtown, St. Thomas the Apostle and Church of the Epiphany. She also works regularly and is featured on recordings for esteemed chamber music groups “the Definiens Project” and the “Vientos Trio”.
As an actress, Corinne appears regularly in film, television shows and commercials, most recently starring on “Bones”, “How I Met Your Mother”, “Cold Case” and “Ugly Betty”.
