Brian Ferraro – Drums

October 16th, 2009

Brian Ferraro

Styles: I have professional experience playing Rock, Pop, Jazz (Big Band to Be-Bop), and various Latin styles.

Background: I started playing at age ten and by age 13 it was drums 24/7. I played every opportunity I could find ranging from school band to jamming at home everyday for hours on end (thanks mom and dad!). I attended Poway high school (in Southern California) which had a prestigious and prolific music program – Marching band, concert band, jazz band, stage band and more. I did very well in these programs and was proud to have received the most outstanding musician award my senior year. I also was selected to play in many California honors music groups. From there I went to Cal State Fullerton and studied percussion with Todd Miller for two years, performing with the wind ensemble and also the big band. I then went to Berklee College of Music where I graduated with a B.A. in music performance. While doing all this “academic stuff” I was rehearsing, recording and playing countless shows with various original rock bands. I moved to Los Angeles where I continued to playing in rock bands, touring North America and also Europe. I started teaching in 1999 which has been a great learning experience in itself. Ive also worked at the famed Cole Rehearsal Studios in Hollywood, running P.A. equipment for many famous bands.
