Biography:

Carrah Flahive discovered her talent for music at an early age, singing with her parents’ children’s choirs and at family gatherings. At the age of six, Carrah wowed a massive crowd of 20,000 astonished listeners with a solo performance at the Anaheim Convention Center, thus establishing an early passion for music and performance. Continuing singing throughout Southern California, Carrah’s early performance achievements went on to include five European tours as a featured soloist with Pueri Cantores San Gabriel Valley. At 14 she gained admittance into the nationally acclaimed L.A. County High School for the Arts vocal performance program. There, Carrah continued to hone her skills and perform in various musical revues, galas, and theatrical productions. After high school, she pursued intensive studies at the LA Music Academy with such esteemed artist-instructors as Kevyn Lettau, Tony Inzalaco, and Cathy Segal-Garcia. With a desire to create her own authentic combination of Jazz and Brazilian musical forms, Carrah made an intrepid move to São Paulo, Brazil, where she performed nightly with top local instrumentalists in some of the city’s most exciting venues. For two years, Carrah immersed herself in Brazilian music and culture, integrating it into her own style of jazz. Since leaving Brazil, she has sung across Los Angeles and participated in studio sessions. Now, Carrah is looking to return to Brazil to showcase her original style in her first solo album.
