The recent push to encourage people to 'shop small' is easily justified by a store like Grayson's. It is family owned and operated, with as many as three generations in the store at once. Everyone who works there is sincere, patient, and highly knowledgeable. They have an impressive range guitars, ukes, banjos, and other stringed gems. They offer repair services, sales, and more. If you need lessons, advice, or a reason to remember why it is so important to shop small, go to Grayson's. You won't regret the trip.
This place rocks. Unlike GC or other such places, every single instrument is in impeccable condition. That's why I bought my Tele there, and that's why I'm buying my next Tele there.
I found this gem of a music store while looking on the Eastman Guitar website for dealers. The service was wonderful, and the salespeople were friendly and knowledgeable - not to mention their excellent selection of finely crafted instruments. I'll definitely be back.
I used to get guitar lessons here and Grayson's really started my lifelong love of guitar. I always go there for strings, repairs, and to buy guitar accessories like picks or tuners. I wanted to try to learn how to play the harmonica and Grayson's staff was very helpful in giving advice on which ones to start out with.
There are at least two good reasons to come here. First, they have a good selection of guitars in all price ranges, and they are fair and honest with their customers. Second, Sam their guitar tech does excellent setups and repairs at very reasonable prices. Bring in your guitar and have Sam service it before he gets hired away to tour with a famous guitarist. There's no reason to go to a big box store for a guitar - you will be happier here
My kids take guitar lessons here and the staff is great. There's plenty of parking and the students get to play the music they want to learn. The store itself is pretty good, great selection. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, no pushy salesperson trying to close a deal while you check out the instruments. We recently bought my son a Stratocaster, when they didn't have the finish in stock, they ordered it and it was there 3 days later. Excellent store and a much better experience than that big chain music store.
If you're a fan of supporting mom and pop businesses that give you extreme value for your dollar, this is the place to go.
